Raising Emotionally Balanced Kids (The Love Languages of Children 1)

August 23, 2021

The fact that for us as educated individuals, we go to school to learn or study for the earliest parts of our lives should be a signal to us as parents that constant education on various aspects of our lives and those of our kids is very key and important.

Parenting has suffered so much as an aspect of human life and this is evident in the poor lifestyle choices that we see grown-ups adopt.
Recently, I saw something on social media, an eleven-year-old boy who died during an alcohol drinking competition. The first person to blame in this situation for me will be the mother of that child. Our African culture too supports my position on this.
How busy have we become that we have left the society to raise our kids?
How career-driven are we?
What price can we give to for the development of a well-grounded child?
How did we leave our duties to others?
Why is it that if any areas of our lives get to be neglected, it is the lives of our children?
Some parents believe strongly that since they have paid the school fees, it is the duty of the school to raise their kids.
The COVID 19 experience exposed a lot of us parents?
Anger, yelling, blaming each other, and leaving the television to do our work, while we scroll through social media all day long became the order of the day.
This is a call to parents. Our society is fraught with so many challenges, with the emotional and mental health of our children suffering because of our negligence.
Parenting must be deliberate. And that is what parenting by choice is all about.
What goals are you setting for yourself as a parent?
What goals are you setting for your children?
How can we build on a faulty foundation?
The next series is going to be dwelling on the emotional well- being of our children and how to raise well-balanced kids in this emerging world.
Will you join me on this series?
I promise I will make it worth your time.
Do stay tuned. To be continued……..
