Salwise’s kitchen Zaria, were Traditional meals are served with style

August 13, 2023
Most of us eat with our eyes first. As such the presentation of food makes it appealing, as your eyes already imagine that the food will taste as good as it looks. We feature  a chef who has evolved the traditional dishes to be so appealing.
Salwise’s kitchen Located in the ancient city of Zaria offers suptious traditional dishes in style ,with clients across the country.
The young but creative Salaha Zaria, CEO,Salwise’s Kitchen, gives an insight on Salwise’s kitchen and the secret of her Success!
“I was born and bred in Zaria city, where I studied both western and islamic education.
Before I go further, I would like to show my sincere appreciation to the magazine for honouring me as guest of the week.
Even though I am not a certified chef, but I thank Allah for elevating me to where I have never expected to be.Surely,I really love cooking and being in the kitchen. This helps me to improve my learning skills and discover new dishes.
I  recall my first day in the kitchen. I was 7yrs old,and started with Taliyar Hausa(local spaghetti). After preparing the dish and  serving it, ya salam! My mom couldn’t take  it,because it was so spicy.
Mum didn’t discourage me,”she kept  telling me that, I should continue learning because, practice makes perfect”. I believed in what mum told me, and from then on I engaged myself in cooking .I started creating dishes, snacks and candies. Most especially traditional ones.
Alhamdulillah now I can prepare different types of dishes, snacks, drinks, and candies, with the help  of Momma, and some of  chefs I met on social media.
Frankly, my focus has been on traditional meals. But It would be better to learn both traditional & continental dishes.
Ladies, cooking is a wonderful skill to perfect  ,it  affords you great respect. Beauty without  skills in cooking is useless, don’t be shy, don’t be arrogant, be curious and learn about foods you can’t cook.
Protect your  husbands from buying foods on the  streets by being your own chef. Most of us can’t vouch for the environment most meals we buy are prepared in.
Tips.
When you want to try out making a new snack/dish, do not  start with a large quantity to avoid waste
