Even the Eagle when raised in a strange environment becomes worse than a chicken

This was my experience at a recent event. One of cultural dancers performed carrying a live kite on her head. The poor creature cut a sorry picture hurtling on the head of a dancing woman. And we know that the kite is the swiftest flying bird in our world, indeed, it is the Eagle we see.
As they were done dancing, I approached the leader to enquire how they were able to perform such a feat. “We caught it young” he said. And having lived with us all through its life, it lost its sense of flying. That was how this kite lost its nature as the greatest flying bird that we know.
What a metaphor to many of us. Many indeed today live as this poor kite, scuttling through life unfulfilled not realising their full potentials because they have chosen to be content in their unchallenging environment and, worse still, whom they have surrounded themselves with.
